For any of you who haven't seen them elsewhere, here are the first three images that I've done NaNoDrawMo 2014:

This first one is "Goblin Minion" the card allows you to play it along with another card. While each individual card is wimpy, this quickly allows you to build a formidible force. I kinda feel like that's a good, quick summary of my thoughts on Goblins, so this card is kinda the ultimate Goblin card imnsho.

The Goblin King. No - there's no David Bowie here. Kinda a challenge because I wanted to make him more 'powerful' than the other goblin images, but he still needed to be... well, crappy. Worn clothing, and nothing of real value. The necklace was supposed to be a copper piece with a hole punched through it and worn as a medallion because of its great value. Don't really think that came across.

Big, dopey, and powerful, the Goblin Champion was fun to draw. I enjoyed tweaking his body shape and trying to maintain the biology of the standard goblin while distorting it enough to make this guy a 'champion'.

Looks good, man. As always.
Thanks man! More on the way. How to stuff will have to wait until the month is past.
third one looks suspiciously like the selfie i sent.
Heh. Nah. I made him a little more handsome than that. ;)
Ok - esplain to the dumb guy: #rekt?
Oh, and for the record? I really need to pick up the pace. The idea is 50 drawings in 30 days. So far I'm averaging 1.25 drawings per day and that just ain't gonna cut it.
Ahhh, I somehow glazed over the "50" part. Will have to crack the whip! Btw, these look awesome seeing as a set for the first time. Keep going!
Thanks! Yeah, I like them as a set too. Wait until I get the text box border art etc added in!
Instantaneous hearkening to illustrations in my vintage Monster Manual. Thanks to you, man, my memory now smells of flat soda, stale pizza and cold potato chips.
You're welcome! (And thanks! That's kinda the highest of praise for me.)

I've seen this in a few places, and I have some thoughts. Give me a second to climb onto my soapbox.

  • At first, it's cute. Dude rocking out to some disco-y tunes with his dog. Fun.
  • Then it's funny - the dog gives his "I will fuck your shit up, yo." look.
  • The End.

But what is pretty much the first thing I think when I see this video?

This asshole is recording with his phone, dancing, and paying attention to his dog when he should be paying attention to the god damn road!

Yes, I drive for a living, and so that makes me a little more focussed on this sort of thing, but really? In this era where we poke so much fun at people for paying too much attention to their phones that there's a sitcom based on the idea?

The dog should follow through.

Per Lindsay's request...

In my defense: I was half asleep when I was drawing that. Christ - I thought it looked sooo much better with half closed eyelids.
I love it! Him! Her! Et cetera!
It really DID look better with half closed eyelids - I swear. Try it yourself. No - close them a little more. A liiiittle more...

Ok. Generally speaking, I don't even bring up my birthday and I've honestly had years where I would have forgotten it (quite literally) if I hadn't been reminded of it.

Add to that the fact that I now live a life where calling me a minimalist is an understatement, and I find myself leary of bringing it up at all.

So, says I, how can I offer folks who want to do something nice for me on my birthday - remotely and without cluttering up my life with 'stuff' and free?

That's when it hit me. I spend a lot of my time in my Contacts list these days. Whether on my phone or in GMail, I stare at a lot of faux silhouettes instead of my friends' faces.

So - if you feel inclined to do something nice for me for my birthday, don't worry about buying me something. Just send me a selfie that I can use in my contact info for you.

Silly, sexy, fun, goofy, or artistic. Whatever you want to represent you.

I do have one request though: I'd prefer it be of you.

A lot of folks make their FB profile pic a photo of their kids or their dogs or their company logo, and that's fine - but this is for me, and I'd like to see you when I look you up.

The best way to send it is probably to my email address (first initial . last name @ gmail .com). Please do not send it to me via MMS - I do not have data on my phone while I'm working in Canada. Anything beyond that, let me know and I'm sure we could figure it out.

Thanks folks. You rock.

Random Side Note: This is my first public post on One Post Wonder. If you would like to read what else I've posted here, and we're friends - ask me and I'll send you an invite. It's the new hangout where the cool kids are playing.
